Cognitive (Talk) Therapy: Simply put - it is talking about what is bothering you. Cognitive therapy is designed to help you identify and change distorted thought patterns that lead to feelings and behaviors which are worrisome and caustic into desirable and manageable behavior patterns. Bonnie believes a calming, yet direct approach is helpful in providing a safe and nurturing environment for you to identify your problems and find healthy solutions.
Mind-Body Therapy: Simply put - it is connecting your mind with your body. Bonnie understands how the un-acknowledged feelings from past experiences are stored in your body and how you are negatively affected by these buried feelings of emotion. Unraveling these feelings and allowing the relaxation response to attune the mind and body helps to build your self-esteem and improve relationships so that you can lead a healthier and more productive life.
EMDR II Therapy: Simply put - it is a technique that allows a stressful memory to be processed, healed and restored. Although EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is an eight phase form of treatment, it can be divided into a three step process: 1) identifying the triggers associated with the trauma, 2) understanding the negative cognitions that are attached to the trauma and 3) integrating a new positive and dominant belief to the experience. Bonnie has found EMDR to be a powerful tool to help overcome the feelings of being powerless that comes with so many of life's traumatic events.
